THE 1984-85-86-87-88-89-90-91-92-93 BELT ACCESSORIES
I copied the belt routing of a Ford engine with a mix of brackets from different years from 1979-1993. That's why I am making this site, it's hard to keep track of the things I keep improvising. I ended up junkyarding, eBaying, and using what I had laying around to put this together. I didn't realize how many variations of accessory brackets Ford made in this time period. Most of the problem was from trying to get the AC compressor inline with the rest of the pulleys and still use some original 1984 brackets. They are not all the same even in the same generation of Mustangs. For awhile, the garage seemed like a hoarder's paradise of engine brackets. I should have kept track of the part numbers and bracket years, or just found a donor car and took all the brackets from one vehicle. From eBaying the unused brackets, it was more time consuming then expensive.
Finally, everything was bolted down and lined up. To find the proper belt length, I measured around the pulleys with string, bought belts around that length, and chose the one that fit. Looking up applications that fit the belt I chose, it shows fitting a 1987 Ford Mustang, so I must have done something right.
